Cardable says you care

I recently got a chance to look at this website Cardable. I expected to be bored with just another card site, but that didn’t happen. It was fun, fast, and super easy!

Cardable describes their company in the following way,
“Personalized cards are a growing trend but if you’ve ever tried to navigate the big ‘super-sites’ you probably realised the experience was anything but personal. Enter the challenger, Cardable, a beautifully designed site which re-creates the corner shop experience on the internet. All cards are designed to be personalised with your own photos and feature an understated and charming sense of humour. You can currently send cards by email for free and printed cards are only 2.50 (plus postage). Unlike the others, Cardable does not try to be ‘all things to all people’ but if you enjoy photography and sharing a laugh with family and friends there’s sure to be something there for you.”

Fancy Blogger

Sooooo… As you all can see my blog is anything but fancy. I have decided that blogging is something I am really enjoying and want to pursue to along with my studies. I know it takes some money to get started, and that is okay!

What I am actually blogging out today is the fact that I need help figuring out how to do all the steps I need to in order to make myself a self proclaimed fancy blogger.

I host with wordpress and pay for a domain name, but I would like to switch to self hosting. I would also love to create/plan/design an amazing layout that I really love. Photo Bug Mama describes me, but my website does not one bit!

If any of of other bloggers have any advice, and would be willing to take the time to email/talk me through this whole process that would be great!

Thanks in advance to everyone who comments giving me any advice at all!

xoxo Jenni

The Christmas Quilt

9781426752773

Today I bring to you another book from the Quilt of Love series called The Christmas Quilt written by Vannetta Chapman. This book is part of the Abingdon Press Christmas blog tour as well!

VannettaChapmanVannetta wrote a synopsis for you as well,

“Babies have their own schedule. But so does God. Annie’s life is deliciously full as the Christmas season approaches. She helps her husband, Samuel, attend to the community’s minor medical needs. She occasionally assists Belinda, the local midwife, and most days, she finds herself delivering the buggy to her brother Adam. Annie’s sister-in-law Leah is due to deliver their first child before Christmas morning, and Annie is determined to finish a crib quilt before the boppli arrives. With six weeks to go, she should have no problem . . . but God may have a different plan. Leah is rushed to the English hospital when the infant arrives early, and Annie discovers the Christmas quilt may hold a far greater significance than she ever imagined.”

I have to admit, I wish I would have read A Simple Amish Christmas before this book as I found out after that this is the sequel. I absolutely loved this book though! The idea of the holidays and babies just seem to go together so well. The author really helps you feel the bond between best friends Annie and Leah. The descriptive language helps the reader to really try and relate to the story.

When Leah goes into the hospital early, the way the quilt brings them even closer together was written so well. I enjoyed seeing how the quilt highlighted not only their joy, but their pain as well.

I don’t want to reveal the ending for everyone, so I won’t go into a ton of detail, buttttt the ending was my favorite part. Having not one special experience, but two! The love was truly felt through this book. The love of friends, as well as, the love of family.

If you want to read more, you can find an excerpt from this book  here … although I strongly suggest you go out and add this to your collection!

What’s Important

As I lay in bed with my two babes, I truly am appreciative for all that I have.

A coworker of mine had one of the loves of their life taken from them too soon this weekend. I can not even begin to fathom what their family is going through. The loss of a child is like no other. I can not even pretend that I understand.

What I can do is love my babies until they can’t take it anymore. I can hug them, kiss them and tell them I love them along with everyone else in my life. I can put down the iPhone for a bedtime story, or just for cuddles. I can take that 5 minute break from homework to hear their insane requests for outlandish toys on TV or ice cream before dinner.

I can remind all of you, my readers, to tell those around them you love them. Hug them, kiss them, squeeze them tight, because somewhere someone may have just been robbed of those special moments with someone they love.

We as people need to cherish the time we have, and celebrate life before it’s too late…

Mother’s Therapy Organics : REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED 🙂

I was beyond excited when I got the email to review Mother’s Therapy Organics!

Image

The lovely package M.T.O sent! I swear it smelled so fresh just opening it up!

Both of my babes have extremely sensitive skin, with Bex having the ultimate issues. Mother’s Therapy Organics sent me 3 of their different products to sample along with two on the go containers of their hand sanitizer. While the germ-figh’n hand lotion, cool as a cucumber  is marketed towards sanitizing as well as moisturizing before and after diaper changing I found myself wanting to use it all the time! Luckily they also sent the hand sanitizer, skin revitalizing for all the time whether it was on the go or at home! This was a life saver this week and I’ll tell you why.

I have been sooo sick and while I have still been watching the babes along with going to work, no one else has gotten it. I truly believe it’s because I was washing my hands and then sanitizing with this awesome sanitizer! The smell is amazing and it’s very mild, as not to overwhelm those of us who just can’t handle those strong aromas. I let my co-workers (we all work in childcare) use it and they kept all saying

“It smells so fresh!” & “Wow! I love how it isn’t sticky feeling like other sanitizers.”

Don’t even get me started on the Mother’s Therapy Organics Baby Lotion, Soothing Relaxing Moisturizing.  It is absolutely amazing. My babes get allergic reactions to almost all lotions I put on them with the exception of a few. The first day this package came in the mail I couldn’t wait to get the babes in a bath and use this lotion after. With its light, creamy feeling both of them absolutely loved it and no one complained they felt icky (this often happens with those heavy, unscented lotions) The best part…. no reaction. It was so sensitive and awesome that we had no issues & it has become a regular part of our night time routine.

Now that everyone was patient here is the best part…..

Early Bird Catches the Worm

No matter what we do to adjust his schedule

he will always be my early bird!

Beckham was born at 5:30 a.m. Ever since this is the time he wakes up.

I love him so much, and I myself am a morning person.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY MY SWEET BOY STAY ASLEEP!

“Mommmmyy”

“yeah?”

“I want you to search for my camera. I want to go downstairs. GO DOWNSTAIRS. I WANT TO PLAYYY”

This is where I try to reason with him about no playing downstairs until the lights come on

and by lights I mean the sun.

He knows this, but still fights the idea.

“I need _____________ really quick. Just get my ___________ for me.”

He could be talking about anything.

Each day it changes from random items like screwdrivers to cameras.

Today the cycle continues as we sit up playing in his room with all the lights on

while I blog about my son who is always up before the sun.

Bella the bad kitty

20131006-072517.jpg

Here you see my sweet Penelope laying with a kitten my friend A found on the side of the road! She is absolutely adorable and the cutest little thing, now that the fleas are gone!

At first when my friend passed her into my care , I realized OH NO! This cat is covered in fleas…WTH am I going to do?!  But, after a dawn bath and no change I decided to march my broke ass on over to the vet.  Luckily the flea treatment wasn’t too expensive $100, because she came home all clean, cute , and puffy for my kids to play with!

20131006-072542.jpg

Two amigos eating together

The other issue was our other cat, Cheech or Chi Chi, he hated her at first. Hissing and swatting at her every chance he got, but then a miracle happened 10 days later when she walked up to his food bowl and started munching… nothing happened!!! It was a glorious moment because I was petrified he was going to kill her. I mean imagine that you are completely settled in your house, have great owners, your own free will, and then BOOOM! all of sudden some little kid/cat is dropped in your domain chasing you around and bothering you all the time… I’d probably be a hater too if I was Cheech. hahahah I was so happy that everyone was getting along. Beckham loves laying with her at night, and she has made herself perfectly comfortable wherever she goes.

20131006-072857.jpg

Bex laying with Bella

The only this is that now she’s comfortable she has decided to be a frisky little kitty. For example, on her second day here she tore into the bag of her kitten food and spread those crunchy little brown pieces all overPenelope’s bedroom… I couldn’t believe it.. the whole room & cat food everywhere. For the sake of little Bella I closed the door and gave it a hour before I cleaned it up.

Next, she decided that sabotages the kids castles would be her favorite thing in the world to do. For a couple days, before the kids realized this would be out of my control, I would hear cries coming from Penny’s room only to run and find a pile of blocks all around little cat.

“SHE KILLED MY EIFFEL TOWER”, she would scream at an obnoxious level. Out would run the cat from the pile of blocks to hide, only to come out the next time she was darting her body into the towers like a suicide bomber.

Now she has decided to run around the house at all speeds whenever she can, knocking over anything and everything in her way. I find things knocked off counters when I get home from work, the food bowls tipped over, and all sorts of disarray.

Overall, my feelings towards this adorable little kitten, but she is a frisky little kitten…
