This upcoming week…

Over the next week or so I will be changing my hosting situation.

I beg everyone to stay patient with me through this transition. I am learning the ropes slowly, but being a visual learner and not having anyone to show me exactly how to do all of this is quite hard.

Thank you all in advance 🙂

Fancy Blogger

Sooooo… As you all can see my blog is anything but fancy. I have decided that blogging is something I am really enjoying and want to pursue to along with my studies. I know it takes some money to get started, and that is okay!

What I am actually blogging out today is the fact that I need help figuring out how to do all the steps I need to in order to make myself a self proclaimed fancy blogger.

I host with wordpress and pay for a domain name, but I would like to switch to self hosting. I would also love to create/plan/design an amazing layout that I really love. Photo Bug Mama describes me, but my website does not one bit!

If any of of other bloggers have any advice, and would be willing to take the time to email/talk me through this whole process that would be great!

Thanks in advance to everyone who comments giving me any advice at all!

xoxo Jenni

The Christmas Quilt

Today I bring to you another book from the Quilt of Love series called The Christmas Quilt written by Vannetta Chapman. This book is part of the Abingdon Press Christmas blog tour as well!

VannettaChapmanVannetta wrote a synopsis for you as well,

“Babies have their own schedule. But so does God. Annie’s life is deliciously full as the Christmas season approaches. She helps her husband, Samuel, attend to the community’s minor medical needs. She occasionally assists Belinda, the local midwife, and most days, she finds herself delivering the buggy to her brother Adam. Annie’s sister-in-law Leah is due to deliver their first child before Christmas morning, and Annie is determined to finish a crib quilt before the boppli arrives. With six weeks to go, she should have no problem . . . but God may have a different plan. Leah is rushed to the English hospital when the infant arrives early, and Annie discovers the Christmas quilt may hold a far greater significance than she ever imagined.”

I have to admit, I wish I would have read A Simple Amish Christmas before this book as I found out after that this is the sequel. I absolutely loved this book though! The idea of the holidays and babies just seem to go together so well. The author really helps you feel the bond between best friends Annie and Leah. The descriptive language helps the reader to really try and relate to the story.

When Leah goes into the hospital early, the way the quilt brings them even closer together was written so well. I enjoyed seeing how the quilt highlighted not only their joy, but their pain as well.

I don’t want to reveal the ending for everyone, so I won’t go into a ton of detail, buttttt the ending was my favorite part. Having not one special experience, but two! The love was truly felt through this book. The love of friends, as well as, the love of family.

If you want to read more, you can find an excerpt from this book  here … although I strongly suggest you go out and add this to your collection!

Accepting Failure and Moving Forward

I totally failed a lot of my monthly challenges. I have binged on junk food on bad days, spent way too much time on Facebook, forgot to document my yoga and gratitude and totally neglected, my blog, baby.

So today I pulled the trigger and deactivated Facebook. I know that I should probably have a page for my Tastefully Simple and for this blog, but I needed to so that I could make sure to give myself the break I need especially since school is starting this week!  I would never want to lose all my pictures so I won’t totally delete forever. Although I already do feel like I am concentrating more on blog topics and spending more time with the babes.

Tonight we went to the fair and it was a blast! I even posted a picture on my Instagram of Penny riding the motorcycles. (Find me: Mommyhoodmania) We even let the kids eat the free twinkies they were giving out and I had a gigantic corn dog which I guarantee I will pay for later..but thats another blog post! HAHA Beckham won a rainbow light saber and Penelope won a purple glitter dolphin as well as claiming ownership of the inflatable hammer her dad won. I found the cutest lunch boxes at the John Deer stand that I just had to buy the kids for lunch bunch. They will be perfect for their bento boxes and cups 🙂

The cup I bought!

All in all deleting facebook has been a great decision already!

I can’t wait for you all to read some of the blogs I have coming up including one about Emeals, Kairos Life, and another about a young adult book!

Good things are coming folks!

Day 2; Conjunctivitis Functivitis

So I thought I had a blog post ready to publish yesterday while I was at one of my many “real life” jobs but yet no to avail I screwed that up and it didn’t work 😦
Yesterday was going along not bothering me or anyone else I know for that matter when BAM
The conjunctivitis bug hit my house! Poor Bex looks so sick with his little eye all swollen… So that has brought me home off work lay night and today to get my little man better!
No more.. We will get better and I will return to blog again!

Day 1: #yogratitude & UNPLUGGED, But blogging every day keeps the doctor away!

Today is day one for a couple different personal challenges I am giving to myself! Today is the day that I start giving myself a daily time limit on my internet because it is time to UNPLUG! Another thing I have challenged myself to do is blog everyday in the month of August. I love blogging and I HAVE NO IDEA why I can’t seem to sit down and actually do it more often! The third thing on my list for the month of august is to do daily yoga with a group celebrating #yogratitude a combination of a daily thought of gratitude in your life along with a yoga pose. This will help me explore the many things in my life I am grateful for and should be more aware of as well as challenging my body to step beyond the abilities it thinks it is capable of. I know that my mind and body really need a great cleansing!

With all that said I am really excited and invigorated for the month of August. I can’t wait to get into my yoga and get ready to set myself up for a very positive future. School starts at the end of the month as well so I truly believe I will be putting myself into a position to start school with a positive mindset and in good physical shape to live a long and healthy life with my babies!

I look forward to the future readers I will gain and of course am extremely grateful for the readers/followers who have been here through my rocky off and on blogging expedition ever since I started. I am lucky to have a great resource through MomDot among many other sites 🙂

Don’t forget to come see me….

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

I am so happy to be participating in something as fun as this! The Ultimate Blog Party is amazing for myself because the cost of traveling is way too much for a young mom with two young ones to even think about!

My name is Jennifer although everyone pretty much calls me Jenni or Mama!

I am 25 years young and currently live close to Baltimore, MD. I attend school full time at a local community college for my A.A.T in Early childhood and I also work part time on the weekends usually pulling night shifts on Friday and Saturday with a brunch shift on Sundays! I am lucky enough to have a waitressing job that is super flexible with my hours and understanding of all the stuff I have on my plate 🙂 I have been married for going on 4 years and we have had our ups and downs, but in the end family and our two children are all that matters! We were married young and plan on making it for the long haul. 🙂

Beckham is my youngest and he’s my mamas boy. He loves me and is very vocal about the fact that he feels that I need to be around 24/7! He is fun loving though and an absolute dare devil! Bex as we like to call him is a complete mini me visually of his dad, but with my personality!

Penelope, who insists on being called Penny, is my oldest and she is an absolute princess with a tom boy attitude. Penny isn’t afraid to get dirty, but isn’t the bravest little one & that’s all right with me {I don’t think my heart could handle two fearless babes} She is the one who looks the most like me, but with her dads personality. Very stubborn for the most part, but extremely intelligent and 90% on all the height and weight charts!

Some things you may see in this blog:

*giveaways/ product reviews although not too many as I am still new to this!

*a lot of ranting and story telling about being a mom of two!

*tons of pictures! Throwback Thursday & Fashion Friday will most likely become a regular thing as it’s only acceptable to post a certain number of pictures of your kids clothing 😉

5 final facts that you may like to know about me:

– I LOVE to read and pretty much anything except sci-fi.

– I feel that MUSIC is FOOD for the SOUL!

– I am way more into crunchy and attachment parenting styles than any others.

– I have recently gotten into fitness and love eating healthy especially because my little princess prefers to not eat meat!

– I one day want to travel the world with my family. My goal is to do everywhere in the U.S. before they graduate high school!

I look forward to meeting tons of new bloggers and friends around the world =)
